What is your role at Avison Young?
Vice President of Project Management and Development; I spearhead our Central Texas' Integrated Project Delivery service line. If it's an improvement on the land or any psychical structure, I'm usually involved full-cycle.
How did you get into commercial real estate?
My grandfather gave my brothers and I a hammer and bent-up 16d nails to fix the ranch gates. Then I learned how to weld, design architecture, price and capitally fund it and deliver the project, full-cycle. Fast forward a couple trips around the globe, living in beautiful international cities and constantly learning our CRE business. I love being entrepreneurial on the owner's side and bringing the whole vision together for our communities' greater good!
Share an example of a time you delivered economic, social and environmental value to your clients, colleagues or community?
A client came to us a small start-up business needing to grow from their existing tenant space. Our AY multiple service lines collaborated together to save the landlord mulitple capital upgrade costs, afforded the tenant a larger office space in delivering social and economic employment to their community, all while highlighting the environmental value via the tenant's electric-bicycle business model.
How do you see our Purpose reflected in your day-to-day work?
