What is your role at Avison Young?

How did you get into commercial real estate?

I’ve been interested in buildings since I was a child and used to admire them. Through a first school internship with an interior decorator, I was able to visit many customers' flats and houses. From there on, I realized that I wanted to help people find a new home or office where customers would feel comfortable. In a second school internship, I gained my first experience with an estate agent in Lüneburg, which I liked very much and convinced me even more of this profession. During my training, I had the most fun in the commercial sector, which is why I was drawn to Hamburg to work in office leasing after my training.

Share an example of a time you delivered economic, social and environmental value to your clients, colleagues or community?

I focus on the needs of my clients every day, both on the tenant side and on the owner side. I ask and listen in order to respond to the clients' wishes in the best possible way. It’s important that tenants have a good savings potential in terms of expenses and well-utilized space efficiency; modern work is playing an increasingly important role in this. In the past, I’ve collected donations for a children's food bank and I also donate to needy people or social organizations every year at Christmas.

How do you see our Purpose reflected in your day-to-day work?

Our employees are the core of the company and we all meet on one level. The customer is our top priority and that’s our shared focus.
