Mark Mattis joined Avison Young (“AY”) in the Fall of 2022 as part of the AY acquisition of Madison Marquette/PMRG. He currently serves as a Principal in the Los Angeles Westside office and oversees agency leasing for over 1.2 million square of office space in Los Angeles County.

Mattis started his career in commercial real estate at the Grubb & Ellis Company in 1986. In his tenure on the Westside, Mattis focused his efforts on office leasing representing clients such as TCW Realty Advisors, JMB Properties Company (Heitman/JMB), Mitsui Real Estate USA, Principal and CDE Bank of Paris.

In 1995, Mattis was recruited by Prentiss Properties where he served as the Regional Director in Southern California heading up leasing/sales transactions for both the Prentiss Trust and the company’s third-party clientele. His responsibilities included the leasing, acquisitions for the Western Region and disposition of office and industrial projects on behalf of such institutional clients as TIAA-CREF, AMB Property Corporation, Prudential, Health Care Property Investors, Kearny Real Estate Company, Clarion Partners, CALPERS and the Prentiss Properties Trust.

After the sale of Prentiss Properties to Brandywine, Mattis brought his third-party clients to PM Realty Group (PMRG). He served as a Senior Vice President starting in 2003 and headed agency leasing in Los Angeles for the Houston-based company. He expanded his clients to include Wells Realty Trust, UBS, GE Capital, Broadreach Capital Partners, The Watt Companies and JADE Enterprises. During his 20+ years at PMRG/Madison Marquette, Mattis closed over 1,500 lease and sales transactions.

Mark currently serves as Vice-President of the 1,000+ member, Southern California chapter of the National Association of Industrial Office Properties (NAIOP). He was a 10-year Board member of the Los Angeles Commercial Real Estate Association (LACRA), is currently serving his 25th year as the Chairman of the Annual Broker Challenge in Santa Monica (a philanthropy event which, since 1999, has netted an excess of $2.6 million for the beneficiary Vista del Mar). He currently resides in Manhattan Beach with his wife, Shauna Mattis – he enjoys tennis, pickle-ball, beach tennis and is a drummer in a rock cover band (Pavlov's Dog).
