Brian holds accreditations in both town planning and architectural technology. Having completed a Masters Degree in Spatial Planning at TU Dublin he joined Avison Young’s Dublin team in 2014. Brian specialises in town planning, urban design, masterplanning, development consultancy and design intervention studies. He has over 40 years of experience working in the planning, architectural and urban design sectors and has project managed many large-scale schemes in both Ireland and the UK. 

Brian’s professional experience includes a variety of masterplanning and site analysis work across a range of projects requiring locational analysis, urban design frameworks, thematic plans, public realm initiatives and gap analysis. Brian has also managed the preparation of many large-scale masterplan proposals including urban design, public realm, pre-planning consultation, preparation of design and planning statements including liaison with large consultant teams and stakeholder groups. 

Brian’s role in Avison Young is plan led with his abilities in relation to masterplanning, urban design, site appreciation and context delivering a holistic urban planning view. A diverse skill set allows him to understand urban context and develop strategies to inform appropriate solutions. 

Brian is a strong communicator and has extensive experience in public consultation processes.
