Andrew J. Singer is Principal and Co-Lead of Avison Young’s Tri-State Debt & Equity Finance team.
Prior to joining Avison Young, Andy was the Chairman and CEO of The Singer & Bassuk Organization.
Andy has been directly responsible for arranging financing in excess of $15 billion in Manhattan over the past 10 years. Some of the properties he has most recently arranged financing for include 5Pointz and The Eagle Lofts in Long Island City, 200 Water Street in FIDI, 250 and 315 Hudson Street in Hudson Square. Others include 252 East 57th Street, a 65-story mixed-use condo and rental project), Carnegie Hall Tower, 437 Madison Avenue, 501 Madison Avenue, 747 Third Avenue, 767 Third Avenue, 777 Third Avenue, 77 Water Street, 230 Park Avenue South, The Archive, 50 Murray Street, The Mark Hotel cooperative conversion, The Laurel condominium and the 255 East 74th Street condominium.
Andy was an early mover in the Manhattan Financial District residential conversion program and has arranged more than $2 billion in financing for apartments created under this program. These projects include 70 Pine Street (formerly the AIG building, totaling one million square feet), 63 Wall Street, 20 Exchange Place, 200 Water Street, 45 Wall Street, 88 Greenwich Street, 71 Broadway, 99 John Street, 116 John Street and 50 Murray Street. In addition to the Financial District, Andy has arranged an excess of 3.1 billion of financing in Long Island City.
Andy has won the Real Estate Board of New York’s Most Ingenious Finance Deal of the Year award four times and has been recognized with REBNY’s Louis Smadbeck Broker Recognition award for outstanding lifetime achievement and contribution to the real estate industry.
He frequently serves as an “expert witness” to testify in various real estate litigation and arbitration matters, and has been a guest lecturer at Columbia University, New York University, The University of Wisconsin and corporate meetings.
