Alex Ern is Regional Manager of Innovation and Insight team, based out of the Washington, DC office and oversees the Mid-Atlantic Region which includes Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC. Alex works closely with the I&I team to craft data based, analytically informed analyses for the regional markets, as well as develops subject matter expertise on relevant segments of the regional real estate market, acting as a key AVANT guide to clients and as a spokesperson for our brand to the media on real estate and location intelligence.

Alex brings five years of direct commercial real estate experience, along with a vast network of connections, ranging from developers to brokers. He began his career at CoStar Group conducting market research and joined Avison Young as an Insight Analyst in 2021. Through his tenure at Avison Young, Alex has worked on numerous projects for clients such as JBG Smith, Skanska, Hilco, and many others, and has shown incredible aptitude for AVANT as well as curiosity for all things CRE.

A graduate of the University of Virginia, Alex is an avid sports fan and a music enthusiast. In his spare time, he runs his own musical project, CHOVA (an ode to his hometown, Charlottesville, VA) under which he produces music and performs at festivals & nightclubs.
