Avison Young appoints Brandon Polakoff to Head of NYC Investment Sales

Seasoned award-winning leader to bolster Capital Markets platform capabilities across New York City market
New York City, NY – Avison Young, a global real estate advisory firm, today announces the appointment of Brandon Polakoff as Head of Investment Sales for the firm’s New York City market. In this enhanced leadership role, he will lead a team of more than 30 professionals to support clients with sales of multifamily, office, development and retail assets in the New York City area and beyond. His primary focus will be spearheading the generation of new investment sales business for Avison Young’s Capital Markets platform.

Polakoff joined Avison Young in 2018, has been involved in sales valued at approximately $5 billion and has consistently achieved top producer for the firm’s Tri-state Investment Sales group. He was named one of Commercial Observer’s 30 Under 30 Top Leasing and Sales Professionals in 2018 and was a recipient of Connect Media’s Next Generation Award. In 2019, he was named one of New York Real Estate Journal’s Ones to Watch and Real Estate Weekly’s Rising Stars. In 2020, he was named one of Crain's New York Rising Stars in Real Estate. In 2021, he was named one of Globe Street’s 50 Under 40 Top Commercial Real Estate Professionals. In 2022, he was named one of Crain’s New York Notable Leaders in Real Estate. In 2024, he was named one of Globe Street’s Commercial Real Estate Aspiring Leaders and included in Commercial Observer’s prestigious Power 100 list.

Polakoff will continue to collaborate with NYC-based James Nelson, Principal and Head of U.S. Investments Sales (USIS), Erik Edeen, Principal and Senior Director, USIS and the USIS team, supporting large scale investment sales in NYC and across the U.S. The continued collaboration aligns with the firm’s capital markets strategy and ongoing expansion of the firm’s national capital markets footprint.
