January 13, 2025The children’s legal advocacy group moves to +15k-SF space at 250 Massachusetts Avenue, NW
Washington, D.C. – Global commercial real estate advisor Avison Young has arranged a long-term office lease on behalf of Children’s Law Center (CLC) at Capitol Crossing, 250 Massachusetts Avenue, NW in Washington, D.C. The 15,592-square-foot (sf) space will serve as the organization’s new headquarters, offering its employees higher-quality facilities while maintaining easy access to the Washington, DC courthouse and close proximity to clients and policymakers. The move from 501 3rd Street, NW two blocks north to Capitol Crossing is anticipated for November 2025.
The tenant, CLC was represented by Jonathan Danziger, Principal based in Avison Young’s Washington, DC office and Tyler Marshall of Transwestern.
“We are delighted that we were able to find an office location that will allow us to stay close to the courthouse while also creating a space that better meets the needs of our clients and staff,” said Judith Sandalow, Executive Director, Children’s Law Center.
Capitol Crossing amenities include a conference center, rooftop terraces, multiple fitness centers with on-site staff, and access to nearby transit, including metro train and bus lines. The property boasts multiple retail and dining establishments, including Love, Makoto, L’Ardente, and Tatte Bakery & Café.
“We are thrilled to have represented Children’s Law Center. By structuring a creative real estate transaction, we were able to significantly reduce their occupancy costs, enabling them to redirect more resources toward their vital mission of advocating for the District’s children and families. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that our work directly supports their impactful efforts in the community”,” said Danziger. “The building enables CLC’s attorneys to be steps away from the D.C. courthouse. The property also has fantastic convening space, enabling the organization to meet with its clients, provide space for fundraising efforts, and streamline collaboration.”
