Avison Young grows Manchester planning team
October 1, 2019As part of the firm’s growth plans, Avison Young has appointed Daniel Brown as an associate in its Manchester planning team.
Daniel, who joins the team from WYG, is a chartered town planner with over 14 years’ consultancy experience in managing retail, leisure and mixed-use town centre development projects.
He has a particular specialism in the preparation of retail impact assessments. He also has experience in promoting and delivering major retail and leisure schemes for national and regional operators, and providing advice to local planning authorities on complex town centre policy matters.
Daniel will advise Avison Young’s existing and future retail client base, which currently includes Aldi, B&Q and M&S, alongside a range of private sector developers. Prior to WYG, Daniel spent six years with HOW Planning’s Manchester office before the firm merged with GVA in 2018 and subsequently with Avison Young earlier this year.
Neil Lucas, planning director within Avison Young’s Manchester team, said: "We are delighted to welcome Dan back and add to our strong retail planning offer.
“From the Manchester office, we work with clients right across the country and we look forward to benefiting from Dan’s extensive experience and specialist retail skills to help drive forward this important sector of our business.”
Daniel joins the team following the recent consolidation of the two Avison Young Manchester offices into one office base at Norfolk House, creating a leading collaborative advisory platform.
