Michael Heaney joined Avison Young in June 2021 as a Vice President in the firms downtown Chicago office where he will focus on Tenant Representation for corporate office users in the downtown Chicago area. Michael brings a strong financial background, astute client services, and experience representing companies of all sizes, from large corporate users to local not-for-profit organizations. He excels in deflating complicated lease language, dissecting and simplifying financial analyses, and creating long-term, flexible real estate and workplace solutions for clients. 

Prior to joining Avison Young, Michael was a key member of Cresa’s Corporate Office Advisory group in downtown Chicago, where he co-led Cresa Chicago’s Association & Nonprofit Practice Group. Michael served as a mentor to new entrants into the business, utilizing his experiences as a junior broker, his work ethic, and his innate ability to connect with and understand the needs of his clients. He began his career at JLL in 2013 and was responsible for managing real estate transactions for large corporate accounts.

Michael is a graduate of DePaul University – Kellstadt Graduate School of Business with an MBA in Real Estate Finance and Investment. He received his undergraduate degree at the University of Central Florida with a B.S. in Finance. He is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Illinois. Michael is also Co-founder of the Associate Board of Ambassadors for the Great Books Foundation located in Chicago.
