As a Principal with Avison Young’s Capital Markets Team, Marcus focuses on investment sales and capital markets solutions of value-add properties, including land for development.  His brokerage experience has been wide ranging from urban industrials to high profile mixed-use, such as the retail dominant Seaboard Station in downtown Raleigh. 

Prior to transitioning to full-time brokerage, Marcus spent over 20 years with institutional real estate owners such as Equitable Real Estate and Highwoods Properties.  During that time, he successfully developed over 2 million square feet where he was held P&L accountable.  Most property was in high density locations in Atlanta, Raleigh, Richmond, the Triad and Washington DC.    He also developed, entitled, asset managed and transacted an extensive array of commercial and residential land throughout the Southeast.
