Jessica Thalen joined Avison Young in 2023 as a Senior Associate, Brokerage Services assisting Graeme Webster and Benjamin Burns in leading the capital markets commercial real estate team in Ottawa, with a focus on investment transactions.
Prior to joining Avison Young, Jessica worked alongside Graeme and Benjamin at Koble Commercial Real Estate & Brokerage as a Transaction Manager before her eventual promotion to Broker of Record. From 2015-2023, Jessica assisted the Koble team in representing their clients in a multitude of commercial real estate transactions across Ontario. With unmatched attention to detail, she oversaw and approved everything transaction and compliance related for the entire brokerage team.
During her time at Koble Commercial, Jessica worked on hundreds of deals in all commercial asset classes with an annual average transaction volume of more than $150,000,000. Her focus was on analyzing the due diligence and financial underwriting of investment properties and on identifying and mitigating client risk. From leading onboarding, co-ordinating marketing to helping implement policy and decision making, there was no challenge Jessica didn’t tackle head on.
Jessica previously gained 6 years of commercial and residential real estate experience at Coldwell Banker working in administration and office management. Prior, she spent 3 years working in various departments of the federal government.
Jessica has obtained a master’s degree and an honours bachelor’s degree from Carleton University. She has completed her Real Estate Broker licence and is registered with the Real Estate Council of Ontario.
