EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants engaged Avison Young Studio Project Services team for their relocation and reconstruction of a Class A office space in Jersey City, New Jersey. The studio team was responsible for the reconstruction of the 8th floor which consisted of 12,000 sf.
Working with over 50% of the existing architecture including ceilings, walls, glass and lighting to minimize construction waste, our designers brought to life a reimagined, environmentally friendly office space for the new tenant. We created a modern, sleek space suited for EPIC’s unique needs. With an attention to detail, the studio team strategically designed the space for employee wellbeing through leveraging the office’s perimeter line to connect to nature and bring the outdoors in. A notable execution of this vision is the new employee break room, a central meeting place for the team to socialize and relax with optimal views of the New York City skyline.
Reflecting on the design concept, the finishes present a sleek, clean and bright aesthetic representative of EPIC’s brand identity and color palette. In the boardroom and break room, as well as reception, specialty ceilings and lighting were selected. A feature of this design concept can be seen in the break room, where the ceiling has been designed as an abstraction of the client’s logo.
Mindful of satisfying the needs of the identified program, existing offices have increased in quantity to accommodate the client’s headcount and return to work efforts. Following through in an effort to leverage existing conditions, the Pre-Construction team identified a construction benefit through an existing raised floor that supported access to run wiring efficiently.
