Chicago – Avison Young’s continued commitment to equipping its teams and clients with technology and multi-dimensional data solutions, today announcing the appointment of Dave Sawdey as Principal, Global Leader of Portfolio Analytics and Business Intelligence.

“Dave’s 25 years of business intelligence leadership and broad data expertise are significant assets to our data and analytics technology platform,” said Harry Klaff, Principal and President of Clients, Avison Young. “Avison Young’s client service model is based on delivering value through technology that empowers our clients to make smarter and more data-driven decisions and we’re excited to have Dave to lead that strategy.”

As the lead of Portfolio Analytics and Business Intelligence, Sawdey will collaborate with Avison Young’s Innovation team to create technologies that integrate real estate portfolio data with market intelligence. This allows occupier clients to generate insights and better visualize the impact of real estate decisions leading to more successful outcomes. Other priorities for Sawdey include developing a product roadmap for occupiers leveraging Avison Young's AVANT technology platform and launching industry leading data-based technology products for the occupier market. He will work closely with all service lines at Avison Young, especially brokerage and consulting to support our current offerings.

Sawdey brings more than two decades of experience in integrated workplace management software systems, data intelligence, advanced analytics, and data visualization. Throughout his career, he has held roles in product engineering, product management, enterprise sales, consulting, and professional services. He has a proven track record of developing and productizing PropTech solutions for clients. Sawdey’s client experience spans from the mid-market to global Fortune 500 across financial services, technology, retail, industrial, healthcare and government sectors. Prior to joining Avison Young he spent nine years with JLL as Senior Vice President, Director of Business Intelligence, where he created and led the Strategic Consulting Business Intelligence Practice, built the Integrated Portfolio Business Intelligence Team and was the Strategy Lead for Portfolio Planning Products. Sawdey is a governing body member of the Chicago Chief Data Officer community and a long-standing member of CoreNet Global.
