Countrywide Healthcare doubles head office and warehouse as business grows
11 mars 2021Avison Young appointed to market current warehouse and head office facility.
Avison Young has been appointed by Countrywide Healthcare to market its current 53,000 sq ft warehouse and head office facility at Park Springs Industrial Estate, Barnsley, following its recent acquisition of the 110,000 sq ft former Sash UK unit nearby.
Countrywide, a leading specialist supplier to the care sector, has been based in the area for 25 years and in the current facility since 2006.
Sarah Robinson, managing director of Countrywide, said: “We’ve been growing as a business for some time and have been looking to increase our capacity. We were very mindful of ensuring we retained our excellent staff by not moving far from our current facility. The new premises will provide space to double the capacity of the business and serve our customers ever better.”
Rob Oliver, principal at Avison Young, who brokered the deal, commented: “We were delighted to have been appointed by M7 Real Estate to market the former Sash UK unit at Park Springs. It was a rare opportunity for occupiers to acquire modern second-hand freehold premises, and we were not surprised by the level of interest and number of viewings requested.
“Demand for industrial space across the region has skyrocketed over the past year, with the pandemic, Brexit and the booming e-commerce sector all being influential factors in driving up demand. Even as we ease out of lockdown, we expect this trend to remain, as the race for quality space continues.”
The soon to be surplus 53,000sq ft unit at Park Springs, comprises a modern warehouse unit with a high quality two storey office and welfare section. There is a generous car park to the front, and secure loading yard to the rear. It is due to be vacated in the summer and is available for freehold purchase.
Rob added: “The unit presents very well and has obviously been well cared for by the owner.”
