Scope
The provision of project management and employer’s agent services for the change of use of an existing industrial distribution facility, retaining the existing facades and fully replacing the internals to accommodate a 20MW Data Centre facility, comprised of four 5MW data halls and ancillary support areas. Dealing will all aspects involving local authorities. Shell and Core was financed by the investors and the customer allowed the technical fit out to be delivered.
Challenges
The customer Microsoft had a very strict Health and Safety procedure for the works on site. The works were carried out through the COVID-19 pandemic. We had many cases but managed to control the situation and continue the works through a logistic that kept everyone in safe conditions. In addition, the data centre was built close to residential properties with limited noise levels. Again, AYPM provided a logistic that kept the works progressing without any delays.
Added value
The high level of expertise and advice through various logistics kept the project progressing to avoid any major delays.
